Basic Info: All sessions are co-ed with bunk availability being determined by cabin. Cabins are assigned based on age and gender selection. You can select a gender-segregated cabin (girls only or boys only) or you can select the gender-inclusive cabin. This option was created to better serve children who identify with neither gender and is also available to parents and children who simply wish to break down gender stereotypes. Our Leadership Track (LT) program for teenagers is available to campers of ages 14+ and entering grades 10+. These teenage leaders will bunk in cabins of younger campers with the same gender selection (segregated or inclusive).

Special medical needs? We will have a health supervisor at camp with an RN or higher level of training. The health supervisor is prepared to handle medical conditions treatable with oral, topical or inhalable medications which have been under good control medically for at least a month. We can sometimes accommodate a child with medication requiring routine injections – but we evaluate that on a case by case basis. If this is you, please contact the camp registrar who can put you in touch with our medical staff.

Getting to camp: Did you know that we offer a bus to our NorCal sessions from Sacramento? Bus is one way only – parents will need to pick up campers but we hope this cuts down on the driving. For other regions, we will be rolling out software to help parents connect with each other for carpooling.

Paying for Camp

Camp Quest West SoCal 1 2012We recognize that families have different abilities to pay, and therefore offer 3 price tiers. Tier 3 represents the actual cost of camp. Tiers 1 and 2 are subsidized by supporters.

Upon registration, you will be able to select the price that is right for your family. For the one week sessions:

  • Tier 1: TBD
  • Tier 2: TBD
  • Tier 3: TBD

The combined two week session is double the price of the one week sessions, plus an additional $100 to cover meals and other expenses during the inter-session time.
All children receive the same camp experience, and registration includes food, program expenses, lodging, and more.

Financial Aid

Thanks to the generous support of the freethought community, and the Helen Kagin Memorial Fund, financial aid may be available for families that cannot afford the Tier 1 pricing.

Applications are evaluated on a first come, first served basis, while funds remain. You may apply for financial aid during the registration process.

Reservation Cancellation

Camp Quest West SoCal 2 2012We believe that camp cancellation policies should be simple and fair, with a little room to make judgment calls when special occasions arise.

To that end, we will offer a complete refund to any registration canceled* prior to June 15 for NorCal sessions and July 5th for our SoCal session.

Nor NorCal sessions, we submit final headcounts on June 15th. For SoCal, we submit final headcounts on July 5. So any cancellations made on or after these dates will not be subject to a refund. That being said, our board of directors will review any special scenarios and is willing to make exceptions when appropriate.

* Cancellations must be made via email to [email protected].
