Getting to Camp

If you’re driving your child to camp, you’ll be provided with easy-to-follow directions to our camp facilities in your Welcome Packet.

But we want you to know of a few alternatives, too! Northern California campers might want to take a bus from Sacramento to the campground.  And, we recognize that some of our campers might be flying in (or out) of camp.

We know some folks are coming from a distance and driving (for some of us) isn’t always fun. We’re working with our national organization to rollout some carpooling software to help parents connect. This can not only allow some sharing of the driving burden but also make new family friends and build community. Stay tuned.

Sacramento Bus

To save you time, we are sponsoring a bus from Sacramento to Camp Ross Relles, at no extra charge. If you’d like to use the bus, meet us on Sunday between 12 and 12:30 pm to check-in at Regency Community Park (5500 Honor Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95835).

We’ll be leaving promptly at 1:00 pm. Late arrivals will need to drive to Camp Ross Relles.

So that we can make appropriate plans, please let us know by June 1st if you will be using our Sacramento bus.

The bus to camp is one-way, so you’ll still be picking up your child on Saturday, at the end of camp.

Flying In (or Out) of Camp

If your camper is flying to or from camp, let us help you! We can arrange for transportation between the airport and camp. This service is included with the price of camp. They must fly in to Sacramento (SMF) for our NorCal camp, or Ontario (ONT) airport for our Southern California camp.

Incoming:       Please arrange the incoming flight so your camper can arrive between 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Sunday, the first day of camp. One of our volunteers will pick your camper up from the airport and bring them to camp.

Departing:      Please schedule the flight for 6:00 pm or later on Saturday, the last day of camp. One of our volunteers will drop your camper off safely at the airport.

If these times won’t work for you, please contact our transportation coordinator and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We’ll provide you with:

  • The name and cell phone number of the volunteer(s) picking up/dropping off your camper. (Note: If your camper is flying as an unaccompanied minor, you must register our volunteer’s name with the airline.)

  • A guide for your camper to use on the day of their incoming flight—with contact numbers on it.

  • A big Camp Omni sign at baggage claim—so those campers who are not registered as unaccompanied minors can find the volunteer who is picking them up.

  • A phone call to you once the camper has been picked up/dropped off so that you can rest easy.
